The problem
The garden drained towards the house, the lawn died back every July, and mature planting had been left to compete with itself for light.
Our solution
Regraded to fall away from the building, with a zoned irrigation system and planting grouped by water demand so one bed is not drowned to keep another alive.
The approach
A measured survey and a planting plan before any soil moved. Drainage and irrigation were first-fixed, then hardscape, then planting timed to the season.
