The problem

A generous terrace nobody used: no shade by mid-afternoon, nowhere to cook or sit properly, and nothing to gather around once the light went.

Our solution

A covered structure sets the room, built-in seating replaces furniture that blew over, and a fire feature gives the space a centre that works after sunset.

The approach

Foundations and services first - power, water and gas first-fixed before the structure closed up - then surfaces laid to fall, then lighting set low and glare-free.
